Tissue removal and a lift happen together
A reduction is not only about volume. Removing tissue without repositioning would leave a smaller but still descended breast, so the same lift patterns used in a breast lift are part of every reduction.
Scars, and why patients accept them here
The scar is the same lollipop or anchor pattern as a lift. Reduction patients are generally the most satisfied group in aesthetic surgery, because the relief is physical as well as visual — but you should still see unretouched scar photographs first.
Insurance: what we will and will not claim
Some plans cover reduction when it is documented as symptomatic, with requirements that vary by insurer. We will tell you plainly whether your situation is likely to qualify and what documentation is involved. Plan on self-pay unless your insurer confirms otherwise in writing.

Book with a named surgeon, not a call center

“I would rather talk you out of an operation than do one you will regret. At your consult I draw on you, show you the 3D, and tell you plainly what I will not do.”
Book with Dr. Careaga“The 3D scan is what sold me. I saw three sizes on my own body and picked the one that looked like me, not like someone else.”
“I came in for implants and he told me I needed a lift instead. He was right. I trust a surgeon who talks me out of things.”

Questions about breast reduction in miami
How much does it hurt, and what will I be given for it?+
You are asleep under general anesthesia with a board-certified anesthesiologist. Most patients describe soreness and tightness rather than severe pain, and many notice the weight relief immediately. You leave with a written pain plan.
Will insurance cover it?+
Sometimes, when it is documented as symptomatic — requirements vary by insurer and several set a minimum tissue amount. We will tell you honestly whether your case is likely to qualify. Plan on self-pay unless your insurer confirms coverage in writing.
How much smaller will I be?+
That is decided with you at the consultation and shaped by what is safe for your tissue and blood supply. The goal is proportion and relief rather than hitting a specific cup letter.
Can I breastfeed after a reduction?+
It is less predictable than after a lift, because tissue and ducts are removed. Some patients can. If future breastfeeding matters to you, say so — it genuinely changes the technique discussion.
Will the size come back?+
Removed tissue does not return. Significant weight gain, pregnancy or hormonal change can increase the remaining tissue, which is why a stable weight protects the result.
