Why your result is capped by your own fat
A BBL moves fat, it does not create it. If you are very lean there may not be enough to graft, and no honest plan can promise a size. Dr. Careaga will tell you at the consult what your own anatomy can actually give.
Not all grafted fat survives
A predictable share is reabsorbed in the first months — this is normal and it is planned for. It is also why sitting restrictions in the early weeks matter.

How much does it hurt, and what will I be given for it?+
You are asleep under general anesthesia with a board-certified anesthesiologist. The liposuction sites feel like deep bruising; the grafted areas feel tight and full. You leave with a written pain plan and most patients are off strong medication within the first week.
How long can I really not sit down?+
Direct sitting is avoided for the first two weeks, then a BBL pillow for several more. The exact schedule comes from your surgeon at your post-op visits — not from a timeline you read online.
How much bigger will I be?+
Nobody can honestly quote a cup or an inch before examining you, because the ceiling is how much viable fat you have. You will see a 3D simulation of a realistic result at your consultation.
Is a BBL safe?+
It carries real risk, and the risk is specific: fat entering a vein. Grafting above the muscle rather than into it is the practice that addresses it, and it is what happens here. Ask any surgeon this question directly.
What if I do not have enough fat?+
Then you will be told so. Some patients are advised to gain a small amount first, others are better served by Lipo 360 alone or by an implant discussion. Being told no is part of the consultation.
