Straight answers before you book
Is it your eyelid, or your brow?
A descended brow pushes tissue down and makes the upper lid look heavier than it is. Operating on the lid alone in that situation gives a disappointing result. Dr. Ramos checks brow position first — and sometimes recommends the brow instead.
Functional versus cosmetic
When upper-lid skin obstructs the visual field, the procedure can be functional and some insurers cover it with documented visual-field testing. That is a specific, measurable threshold — we will tell you honestly whether you are near it. Plan on self-pay unless your insurer confirms coverage in writing.
Where the scars sit
Upper-lid incisions hide in the natural crease. Lower-lid work is often done from inside the lid with no external scar at all, or just beneath the lashes when skin needs removing.

Book with a named surgeon, not a call center

“A face has to work on your bone structure, not on someone else's. If what you are asking for will not sit right on you, I will say so.”
Book with Dr. Ramos“Dr. Ramos spent forty minutes on my nose before mentioning surgery. He fixed my breathing and nobody can tell I had anything done.”
“I wanted to look rested, not tight. That is exactly what I got. My own sister asked if I had changed my hair.”

Questions about eyelid surgery in miami
How much does it hurt, and what will I be given for it?+
Eyelid surgery is among the more comfortable facial procedures — patients describe tightness and dryness more than pain. You leave with a written pain plan, and most manage on ordinary painkillers.
How soon can I go back to work?+
Most patients are concealable with makeup at around two weeks. If you can work from home, many return sooner. Bruising is the limiting factor, not comfort.
Will it get rid of my dark circles?+
Sometimes. If the darkness is shadow cast by a bag, repositioning the fat helps a lot. If it is pigment in the skin, surgery will not change it and you should be told so before.
Will insurance cover it?+
Only if upper-lid skin measurably obstructs your visual field, with formal testing. It is a specific threshold and most cosmetic cases do not meet it. Plan on self-pay unless your insurer confirms otherwise in writing.
Can I have just the upper lids?+
Yes, and plenty of patients do. Uppers and lowers solve different problems and are priced and planned separately, though they are frequently combined.
